Addison on Port Darwin transfer plans.
Lee Addison has a lot on his ‘to do’ list with picking a new squad right at the top of his list.
The Port boss admits he is eager to strengthen the squad but knows the clock is ticking down.
Addison is optimistic that something can be worked out with those he wants to bolster his squad before Jan 21.
“I’m happy so far with the players we’ve met with to date. I’m always open and tell the players how I want to play and how they can fit into my plans. If the player in question can’t relate to these plans then discussions are ended immediately.
I want players who have the same dreams as me and Port Darwin”
An area of concern currently is goal keeper, “there has been a real exodus of goal keeping talent from Darwin since last season. Quality goal keepers are few and far between which is not ideal, but presents an opportunity for someone to step up and stamp their authority on the position” he added.
Port have started the window brightly in landing two targets and Addison agreed, there is a lot more to come.
“It is nice to get players i want committing early,” he said.
Asked if the recruitment process that Addison had installed had worked, Addison agreed, “I think my plans are slowly working but assistance from within the club has definitely helped,” he said, refusing to be drawn to names, however did say “I’m looking forward to unveiling as the preseason progresses“
